Simple designs, unique color combinations lend themselves to a relaxed and casual lifestyle. Each piece of jewelry is handcrafted in Charleston, South Carolina; created with soothing semi-precious stones, soft silver components, luminous freshwater pearls and vivid handmade glass beads. Sarah began selling jewelry and instructing jewelry making classes professionally in Telluride, CO and moved back to the coast of South Carolina 3 years later. Always inspired by her surroundings and casual outdoor lifestyle informal touches and special details make Sarah Scherbel Jewelry perfect for the mountains, the beach and just about anywhere in between.

construction & individual details:

Natural inclusions and color variations in semi precious stones, freshwater pearls, and shell make each piece unique. All semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls are hand-picked to ensure quality in color, shape, luster and cut.

For all beaded Necklaces & Bracelets:

We use a high quality beading wire, typically 21 or 49 nylon-bound strands of stainless steel wire. Exceptions noted.

Leather:
We use high quality Greek leather

Necklace Length and Extenders:
Many of our necklaces utilize a small piece of sterling chain on the back of the necklace that typical extend from 16 inches up to 18 ½ inches. All exceptions noted.

Handmade glass :
All beads are unique, colors will vary. Each piece is handmade by the artist using a technique called lampworking where the beads are molded over a hot flame.

Silver :
We use a sterling silver for all chains and most findings.

We also use Thai silver beads and decorative pendants. This is a tribal silver with a higher silver content that most US or Mexican silver (925-sterling). It has a softer patina and supple shine�perfect for everyday wear. It may be cleaned like normal silver if necessary, but has a wonderful subtle natural shine if worn frequently.

We are always finding unique and interesting silver pieces, any of these special silver pieces will be explained in individual descriptions.

shipping & special care:

Shipping charges will be added at check out.

All jewelry is shipped through the US postal service. Special care is taken in packing to make sure each piece arrives safely. If you must return an item or report damage please retain packaging materials.

If you require overnight or priority please contact us so we may accommodate your request.

jewelry care:

As always it is best to make sure jewelry is in good condition before wear.

Any Sarah Scherbel Jewelry , especially pieces containing semi precious stones and freshwater pearls should not be worn under water, including activities such as showering or swimming.

Do not apply perfumes or lotions while wearing jewelry. Their contents may discolor or tarnish stones and sterling silver .

cleaning:

Chain and wire pieces:
Sterling silver may be cleaned gently with clean toothbrush under hot water, wipe dry with soft cloth, then wipe with double sided polishing cloth (available at most jewelry stores). Silver polish my also be used.

Semi-precious stones and pearls:
Be careful handling and cleaning semi-precious stones or pearl items. Do not clean with cleanser, lotions, harsh abrasives or chemicals.

Freshwater pearls should be cleaned with a soft cloth.

Sarah Scherbel Jewelry is not responsible for jewelry damaged by improper wear or improper cleaning.  

repairs:

Sarah Scherbel Jewelry happily repairs or replaces any items that are damaged under normal wear according to our care guidelines above. We will repair any other jewelry that may have been damaged outside our care guidelines , please contact us for a repair estimate.

returns:

Returns will be accepted postmarked within 10 days of receipt for any unworn items. Include copy of original invoice. Please re-use original packing materials.
